A Christmas Devotional for Kids

Bible Verse
“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
— Luke 2:11 (ESV)
The Story
At Christmas, we celebrate something very special. Long ago, in a small town called Bethlehem, a baby was born. This baby was not born in a big palace or surrounded by riches. He was laid in a manger, where animals ate their food.
That baby was Jesus, God’s Son.
God sent Jesus because He loves us. Jesus came to help us, forgive us, and show us how to love others. The angels were so excited about Jesus’ birth that they told the shepherds, “This is good news for everyone!”
What This Means
At Christmas, we receive presents from family and friends. But the greatest gift of all is Jesus. He is a gift that never breaks, never wears out, and is always with us.
Jesus teaches us:
- To love God
- To be kind to others
- To forgive
- To trust Him
Think About It
- Why do you think God chose to send Jesus as a baby?
- How can you show Jesus’ love to someone today?
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank You for sending Jesus to us. Thank You for loving us so much. Help us remember that Christmas is about Jesus and help us share His love with others.
Amen.
What you can do!
Do one kind thing for someone today—help a friend, share a toy, or say something loving—and remember that you are sharing the love of Jesus.
