“Jesus Helps Us Be Brave”

Bible Verse:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)

Devotional:

Have you ever been scared of a bully at school or on the playground? Maybe someone said something mean or tried to hurt your feelings. It can be really hard to deal with bullies, but guess what? You don’t have to be afraid of them, because Jesus is with you, and He can help you be brave!

When we feel scared or sad because of a bully, we can remember that Jesus is like a big shield protecting us. He loves us so much and He doesn’t want anyone to hurt us. In the Bible, Jesus tells us that He is always with us. That means He’s right there, beside you, helping you through tough times. Even if a bully says something mean, Jesus can give you the strength to stay calm and brave.

What Can You Do When You’re Afraid of Bullies?

  1. Pray to Jesus: If a bully is being mean, talk to Jesus. Tell Him how you’re feeling and ask for help. He hears you and wants to help you feel safe.
  2. Remember that Jesus loves you: When someone is unkind, it’s easy to feel bad about ourselves. But Jesus loves you no matter what, and that will never change. You are special to Him!
  3. Be kind to others: Sometimes bullies are acting out because they feel hurt or sad. You can choose to be kind to them, even if they’re mean to you. Showing kindness can help them see the love of Jesus!
  4. Tell a grown-up: Jesus wants you to feel safe. If you’re really scared or hurt, talk to a parent, teacher, or another grown-up who can help you.

Remember: Jesus is always with you. He’s stronger than any bully, and He will give you the courage to be kind and brave, even when it’s hard.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, thank You for always being with me. Please help me to be brave when I’m afraid of bullies. Help me to remember that You love me and You will protect me. Give me the strength to be kind, even when others are unkind. In Your name, Amen.

Fun Activity:
Draw a picture of yourself with Jesus standing beside you, keeping you safe from any bullies. You can even give Jesus a superhero cape in your picture, because He’s your superhero!

Closing Thought:
No matter what happens, you can always trust that Jesus is by your side, ready to help you face any fear with His love and strength!
